Accountants asked for a tax report that shows not only the totals per tax but also the documents behind them. This module adds that report to Odoo 10, with a hierarchy you can adapt to your filing form.
Note: this article was written for Odoo 10.0 (module on the Odoo Apps Store). Menu names have changed in later versions, but the concept and the configuration logic still apply. Ask if you want the current-version equivalent.
Where to find it
- Report: Accounting → Reporting → Tax Report. Choose a date range and whether to include all entries or only posted ones, then print.
- Hierarchy: Accounting → Configuration → Accounting → Tax Reports Hierarchy. Group taxes the way your tax return groups them.
- Financial reports: Accounting → Configuration → Financial Reports → Account Reports for the account-based view.
What the report shows
- Received tax: taxes of type sale, with a detail section listing each document.
- Paid tax: taxes of type purchase, with the same detail.
- Two layouts: without detail (totals only, for filing) and with detail (for reconciliation and audit).
The same approach is now covered by Odoo's standard tax report in recent versions; for Indian GST returns, see our implementation service.
